 "Wrong Route to Your Roots!!"

Mendy and the Golem Book Eight. Published January 1983.

From the intro...

"'Love your fellowman as yourself.' Rabbi Akiva states 'This is a basic principle of the Torah.'" (Levit. 19:18, Midrash)

The mitzvah of Ahavat Yisroel, to love a fellow Jew, is one of the most fundamental lessons of the Jewish way of life, because it teaches us to go beyond the things that make us different as individuals, and to concentrate on the truly important bond that ties the Jewish people together. That bond is the Neshomah (soul), the Jewish Spark or Pintele Yid that lies within every Jew, boy or girl, man or woman, young or old.

This issue of Mendy explores the mitzvah of Ahavat Yisroel and tries to encourage children to see each other, as well as all Jews, as members of a very unique and very close family, because we all have the same father, G-d in heaven.

Sincerely yours,

Mendy and the Golem
