The Adventures of Mendy and the Golem
In 1981 a few guys decided to make a comic book. Each issue would highlight a Mitzvah and would tell a story with Mendy and his sister Rivkie and their Golem. A Golem is essentially an artificial being that obeys his owner's orders. The most famous Golem was created by the holy Maharal, Rabbi Judah Ben Betzalel Loewe, in 1580 to protect the Jewish community from danger.
The comic book was called Mendy and the Golem and ran from 1981 to 1985. A total of 19 issues were printed.
In each issue there are 32 full color pages plus the covers. In each issue, you'll find stories, games and puzzles that are based on a number of Jewish ideas and concepts.
Mendy and the Golem
In 2003 there was a new story to tell. This story involved Mendy and Rivkie and kidnappings in Prague and the Novak Republic led by Ludmilla and Pavel and there was a Golem too. This series ran for 6 issues from 2003 to 2005 and there are currently a few more in development. This series was also 32 color pages and most of the pages were the story. It is strictly an adventure story unfolding in real time.
So here we are in 2012 and we have a stash of comic books that we've been holding onto all this time and they are all up for sale. The Classics from the early eighties which is highly collectible and the series from the 2000's. We know you'll enjoy them all and we hope to stay in touch as we get ready to tell the rest of the story...
